Privacy Policy

Effective: 13 June 2026 · App: DeenScreen (com.deenscreen.app)

The short version: DeenScreen collects no personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no ads, and no server of ours that your data is sent to. Everything the app knows lives in your phone's local storage and is deleted when you uninstall.

Data the app stores — on your device only

The list of apps you choose to block
Your settings (daily open limits, audio preference, prayer-time city, language)
Streak and usage counters (e.g. how many pauses you closed today)
Onboarding answers (your first name, if you give one, and self-reported screen-time)

None of this is transmitted anywhere. We have no servers that receive it and no ability to access it.

Permissions and why we ask

Usage access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): used solely to detect, on-device, when a blocked app comes to the foreground so the pause screen can appear. Usage information is never stored beyond local counters and never leaves your device.
Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): used solely to draw the Qur'an pause screen over the blocked app.
Notifications: a persistent notification that keeps protection running, as required by Android.
Location: not requested. Prayer times are computed offline from a city you pick from a list.

Purchases

If you upgrade to Pro through Google Play, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases; RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous purchase token — never your name, email, or app-usage data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. If you redeem a license code purchased on our website, the code itself is verified inside the app.

Children

DeenScreen is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version ever changes what data is handled (for example, optional cloud backup), this policy will be updated first and the change will be clearly announced in the app.
