Surah Al-Qiyamah
The Resurrection
Surah 75
40 ayat
Revealed in Mecca
An oath by the Day of Rising and by the self-reproaching soul, and the promise that some faces that Day will be radiant, looking at their Lord.
Featured in the app’s pause: 75:36 .
why this surah matters
Al-Qiyamah swears by the Day of Rising and by the self-reproaching soul, an-nafs al-lawwamah, the conscience that stings after every slip. That sting is honoured with an oath: it is a sign of life.
The surah asks (75:36): does man think he will be left neglected, aimless, unaccounted for? And it describes faces on that Day radiant, looking at their Lord: the destination of those who did not live unaccounted.

Honour the sting The regret you feel after a lost hour online is the lawwamah doing its job. Do not numb it with another scroll; act on it once and it grows stronger. Ignore it long enough and it goes quiet. Keep it loud.
Not left aimless 75:36 is the answer to the feeling of drifting. You are not suda, unaccounted for. A person with an appointment lives differently. So does a person who remembers they have one.
Love the immediate less 75:20: but you love the immediate and leave the Hereafter. Notifications are the immediate, engineered. Delay is a spiritual skill; practice it on small things daily.
